I went to this the first saturday i was in london and got SOOOOO stressed out. there is an INSANE amount of people forcing themselves in this store and furiously looking through the racks for the perfect new trendy top.

i LOVE everything they have here.. it's super cute (and i'm gutted they don't have one in the states!!!) but don't ever go on a saturday if you want to come out alive!

after a certain point you just don't feel like waiting in lines to try things on and i swear you get dehydrated really quick.

my two FAVORITE pairs of skinny jeans i got from here, and it is near impossible for me to find ANY jeans that fit me.

High end to high street!

This monster of retail therapy can be a bit daunting for some but to most people its pure bliss and has become a destination area for tourists from all over the world! Tall, Petite, Maternity, Mini, Kate Moss, Accessories, Shoes and Boutique. Nail bar, Blow dry bar and Brow bar.....and the list goes on. No wonder the average time a customer spends in TS is 3 1/2hours!! My favourite bit is the Boutique area, the eclectic collections by designers such as Ann-Sofi Back, Todd Lynn and Marcus Lupfer are truly amazing and to get their high end pieces to a high street price is what makes Topshop stand out from its competitors.
The basement floor with concessions makes it different from all other topshops, selling brands such as Lipsy, Reko and Peekaboo vintage.
Best time to shop without having to queue and being able to make your way between fixtures without using your elbows is between 9am-11.30am mon-fri.

Yes, its a top shop

I LOVE Top Shop. Let me correct that: I love Top Shop’s clothes; I just hate shopping for them. But that’s typical for high street shops, especially Oxford Street which never seems to die down from the chaos. I have found the quietest time is during a big football match so that’s usually when I try to shop there. But you can’t always plan like that so I end up, like thousands of other gals, shopping at peak times, sweating, trying on items in front of mirrors b/c the dressing room queue is too long, and leaving exhausted. I’m exhausted now just thinking of it.

But their clothes are great. I especially love the vintage areas and the boutique designer shops on the bottom floor. I do love the fact that you can get all the high street shoe shops in one place. The clothes are trendy, the accessories amazing (a wall of coloured tights), and it’s affordable. You can look hip without breaking the bank. The other great thing I’ve heard of and plan to try it this winter, is their personal shopper. For £100 you get someone who will go and find all your clothes and help the fashion challenged people put together wonderful outfits, and the £100 is redeemable in product. And no waiting in that never ending dressing room queue. Win win I say. I’m going to sign up now and let you know how I fare.

Look I'm not saying that I actually WANT to hang out here all the time on a Saturday when I could be walking in a park or drinking coffee with a friend - its just that I don't think its as bad as everyone makes out.

I mean the place is huge, when your girlfriend says 'can we just pop in for 2 minutes' you've lost at the minimum 20 and thats only if you don't buy anything, queuing will add another minimum 10 minutes. On the other hand if you don't want to walk around then they have plenty of seats at the bottom of the escalators usually filled with chavvy boyfriends or nu-rave parents.

Personally I think its best to get involved, its a bit like work, if you keep yourself busy then the time flies, drag your heels and it'll feel like an eternity before you get back outside.

There are plenty of games that you can play in here like 'look at me wearing this stupid hat!' or 'how the fuck did this ever leave the design department' or 'do you think these earrings suit me?' - you and your girlfriend will probably tire of these after a while at which point the best thing to do is enjoy the scenery, by which I mean the hoardes of attractive early-twenties girls - this place is full of them! This either makes me a raving sexist misogynist perv or just your average 29 year old male who's hobbies include drinking with my mates and checking out hot girls!

I can't comment on the quality of the clothes everytime I go to try something on they kick me out of the changing rooms.
