Somewhat American...but not quite.

As an American I know our food isn't exactly famous for being an amazing culinary feat, but let’s face it the best place to get a juicy burger or cheesy nachos is in the U.S. Bodean’s comes close, but it’s not quite there. For example, when we asked what was in the Taco Salad, they mentioned the tortilla bowl shaped shell, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream and I wondered where is the main ingredient of a traditional taco salad, meat? Meat or even beans are NOT served with Bodean’s Taco Salad. I was shocked and thus didn’t order it. I did order a burger, which was decent and quite close to the American version. My suggestion would be to stick to what they are famous for though and just have some ribs when you go to Bodean’s.

Tuesday nights are Steak Tuesdays! Icon_featured_sm

There are fine dining experiences, there are functional places to eat and there are the grey areas in-between.
It's true to say that Bodean's is not fine dining, but nor is the food simply functional - it's comfort on a plate and it's done excellently.

Bodean's is just the place for lovely juicy steak, big fat onion rings (they're completely fantastic) and chips that you know you should stop eating, but can't force yourself to.

The restaurant is noisy, relaxed and unassuming and I'd be as happy there on a date as I would bringing my family.
The service is efficient and accurate and quite satisfying and the unique selling point for me?
All steaks are HALF PRICE on a Tuesday.

No, you read correctly! It really *is* half price, without any gimmicky 'between these hours' disclaimers. What a bargain!

When you walk in and the smell of barbecuing steaks hits you, you know that you're in for a treat. When you find out that treat comes at 50% less than the marked price, you can't go wrong!
Book a table and go. It's a good, cheap place to eat and great quality to boot.

Deeper South the Better the BBQ

...or so the saying goes! Having loved the Soho experience, I had to try this one near me, and I was not disappointed. It was like a bright, funky American Diner, only cooler - with great touches like antler-mounted lamps and neon signwriting in the window. My partner had a starter of crab cake with southern spices and the hilariously-named Boston Butt sandwich while I tucked into great baby back ribs from the UK's first wood-burning smokehouse - so they tell me - with coleslaw and corn bread.

There's a bunch of Plasma screen TV's on the wall so you can catch the latest sport from the USA, although when we were there they were showing Premiership Football because of the time difference, presumably, all the American Sports Stars and presenters were asleep in their beds like good little boys and girls.

We went early on a Friday evening, so we had superb value with 'Beat the Clock', where you pay the time of day from 5:30pm until 7:30pm on weeknights and I believe all day Mondays and Tuesdays is Happy Hour and from 5.30 to 7.30 Wed thru Fri, so we really scored! We can definitely recommend the superb cocktails, although I wouldn't like to do that on a 'school night'. Yee-haa!
