cheap+ authentic kerala food

4.0 out of 5.0

if you fancy authentic south-indian (kerala) food, head to ragam. this small restaurent seats a maximum of 14 - 16 people and is usually jam-packed during lunch hours. the general decor of the place boders on "shady", but the food is pretty damn good and the pricing is cheeaaapppp! please note, this is not a great place to take your date out on - go with frends or by yourself if you are starving and desperately need some awesome malayali style food!

my favourite is the pepper chicken wings - its bloody brilliant! the appam and fish curry are pretty good as well. if you don't like your food spicy / chilly / strong flavours - this place isn't for you. ragam is quite a popular joint for the brat-pack housed in the YMCA nearby and as a result the general crowd tends to be quite boisterous and loud. they do have take aways, so you could place your order on the telephone and then pop down and pick up your stuff. unfortunately they dont deliver :(
