Great atmosphere. was a Bank then a Wetherspoons, and still has a bit of a Wetherspoonsy feel to it. Friendly and relaxed venue with extensive drink lists and great value food menu. From the tapas style starters, like King prawns in garlic and herb butter and toast, Grilled lamb koftas with yoghurt and mint dressing, Rustic country paté with red onion chutney and toast, and great sharing platters, thru British gastro-pub mains like Sausages with herb and cheddar mash, onion and Guinness gravy, an excellent selection of salads and burgers, all the way to the brilliant Sunday Roasts. Scrumptuous! Great cocktails too.

Great central location, but medium sized, so can get rammed on big sports days. No sky Sports, but generally show most international sports matches that are on terrestrial. You can usually just go down and catch the action on the screen at the bar or the back area. To watch the really big games like World Cup matches live, best to book the back area for friends / colleagues and watch the action from comfy sofas with your own private plasma screen. A good alternative if you can't be bothered / get into the nearby Sports Cafe by kick-off.
