The Key is in the same bermuda triangle near Kings X together with Canvas and The Cross and located in a similar brick building. Music policy is a bit similar to the Cross, while perhaps a tick more biased towards the less obvious but this is arguably difficult to say, look up who is playing. It is a bit less claustrophobic than the Cross as there are no arches and there is more room upstairs for more DJs. A nice detail is the sublit dancefloor, which is a bit 70ies and enough space to lounge around somewhere in between rooms. The set up is geared towards the music, cosy but without whistles and bells. Been to Faith parties, Andy Weatherall playing and Steffen Berkhahn aka Dixon, all of that was really worthwhile. The door search is legendary at the Key and the cloakroom staff may appear a bit phlegmatic and erratic but don't let this put you off. Once past those irritations I would expect plain sailing. Crowd is very mixed typically.
