Who Needs Pret?

From the outside, with its crisp modern look, Atlantic Sandwich Bar looks like it might be a chic wine bar or something similarly expensive. The surprise is that, despite the looks, this is a reasonably priced fairly normal sandwich shop.

Everything is good although not especially gourmet - no pedigrees on your gammon here. The thing that sets Atlantic apart from other sandwich bars, other than cleanliness (which is definitely nice - normally I feel like I'm dodging roaches in most little sandwich shops), is their wide variety of unusual sandwich fillings and interesting combinations. Maybe I don't get out enough, but I've never had a brie, bacon, and red grape sandwich anywhere before, and their Italian chicken grilled ciabatta is really delicious.

The line out the door at lunch attests to their popularity, but they are efficient at getting people out the door so you never wait too long. Between here and the B.L.T. deli down the street, you will never lack for a good inexpensive sandwich. So, to sum up: cheap, clean, good, interesting, made to order - it makes you wonder why anyone ever eats at Pret.
