No queues!

I'm a great fan of Tayabbs, but sometimes when you need feeding, the queue puts you off. There's only so many cans of beer you can drink to stave the hunger off. When I was looking for a decent place for me and 7 others, Mirch Masala was recommended. It has all the good points about Tayabbs (BYO, cheap), so off we went.

When we arrived we were seated downstairs. The menu is quite extensive, with many vegetarian dishes. I left my friend, who is Pakistani to order and we got a great array of dishes; lamb chops and koftes for starters, and various dhals, roti, and chicken and lamb curries for main. We were asked if we'd like them hot, medium or mild, so we opted for a combination of medium and mild (begrudgingly so; I like it hot). The medium dishes were pretty hot, so be warned! They were all delicious, and the waiting staff happily packed up anything we couldn't eat (and we were stuffed) to take away. The rice we ordered never made an appearance, but of this we were quite glad as we had more than enough.

The waiting staff were very polite and sweet. They turned down the lights and presented me with a (pre arranged) birthday cake, and even sang happy birthday for us. All in all, a very good meal, and it only came to £10 each incl. service. Definitely recommended.
