Delicious Lebanese Deli
October 23, 2007
This is a great Lebanese deli on the Edgware Road, and from the minute you walk in you get a sense of the quality (the decor is more akin to a luxury hotel reception than a deli).
Everything is beautifully organised, displayed, and most importantly, tastes fantastic.
The freshly prepared food counter offers many Lebanese mezze, as well as traditional home-style cooking dishes not always available in Lebanese restaurants; prices range from 60p for a small feta cheese sambousek (pastie) to £7 for a large portion of any dish of the day, which range from Sayaddieh, a traditional fish and rice dish, to Shish Taouk, garlic and tomato marinated chicken kebabs.
Aside from freshly prepared foods, Maroush Deli has a fresh produce section, a superb butcher, a great array of herbs and spices, a Lebanese pastry and sweet counter, and on the lower-ground floor you will find a great cheese and olive counter, as well as a great selection of fantastic Lebanese wines.
