The Old Crown is a really nice pub with great food, friendly staff and reasonable prices. There are tables outside for people watching or smokers. There are also 2 function rooms available for private hire with no cost, which we have used for works leaving drinks and birthdays etc.

It is quite busy friday and saturday nights but you can always get a drink quickly. I would definitely recommend it to my friends.

After a year of dropping in on this place I've only just learnt to remember what to call it as there's no visible signage outside.

This may be central to the pub's success though, as it is rarely over-busy despite its central spot. I've always found the atmosphere relaxing and the decor has a certain laid-back elegance about it. Nice wine list and the cooked bar snacks are really tasty. It's especially nice in summer when the large windows open the pub to the elements and the pavement tables provide welcome extra space.
