Superb, But Spendy

A really nice pub tucked away not far from Kings Cross. It’s really lovely outside and in, lots of original features, very charming, requisite wood floors and furniture, plus an unique layout around the bar in the centre.

The food is quite good, but this whole Tapas thing can get dangerously expensive. I think 5 small pieces of Chorizo was £4.70…Yikes! The upside of a Spanish menu though is that you get some pretty great wine for a good price, but overall the bill was still pretty steep. Also worth noting, the staff was pretty switched on, our table was well attended to, and our server was actually from Madrid which made the whole experience pretty cool.

Show Me Your Tapas!

With so many pubs going gastro these days, it was nice to see one that had a great selection of authentic tapas to choose from. The service was top(as), the food was delicious and the atmosphere was cosy. It's great for a night out with friends -- reserve a table, get a few bottles of wine (lots to chose from), and share the many varities of tapas. The staff are friendly, albiet a bit slow when it comes to getting the bill, so ask for it about 15 minutes before you are ready to leave, and you'll be fine. Go for it.

The food was quite good. I only tried the tapas, nothing along the lines of a main course. We had many dishes in our party of seven or eight. The atmosphere was great, the food was as well, but the service was a wee bit slow. We were there for about three and a half hours. We weren't concentrated on getting in and out, we were there for the long haul, but I could imagine some frustration if one was in a bit more of a hurry. However, they might have been privy to that and served us slower because of that. Even with that, definitely check it out. The interior was very inviting and cosy, yet still somewhat chic.

Great venue for a casual supper. A pub but with a fun Spanish slant. Excellent staff: attentive, knowledgeable and fun. Really good quality tapas.

Tapas-style Gastropub

It's in an old pub with a lot of character. We had a Sunday lunch there and the food was pretty good. Along with the usual roasts, they serve some amazing Spanish dishes including a wide range of tapas. I had aubergine stuffed with wild mushrooms, courgettes and goats cheese yet the aubergine was drenched in oil and over cooked (crispy). But my 2 friends loved their food. Most mains aren't over £10 either so it's a good deal.

The service was a bit slow - took 20 minutes to get the bill once we asked and we had to ask a couple people to finally get it. Nonetheless, we'll try it again as the atmosphere and food selection are worth it and it's a change for what we normally expect from a local boozer.
