Hidden Italian gem in East End!

We went to La Gondola with my partner and parents for a birthday meal and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and made us feel welcome at once. The menu was very extensive and the waiter also advised that they had specials. We were spoilt for choice. I had the baked avocado and it was gorgeous, my partner had calamari which was a very generous portion. My parents seemed very happy with their starters. The wine selection was really impressive and resonably priced. We were impressed with our main courses and I tried the sea bass which tasted very fresh and the sauce was delicious. My main came with sautéed potatoes and a selection of vegetables which was if no added cost and complemented my dish. My partner and parents had pastas and steak. All in all a great evening as the waiter and owners came out to sing happy birthday in great Italian spirit and it made our evening even more enjoyable. The oqner came to our table to ask if we enjoyed our meal. We really enjoyed having the chef come out to talk to us and we were given a complimentary limoncello which was delightful.

All in all a fantastic evening and the food and service were brilliant a real little gem hidden in Globe Road. I really recommend this restaurant it was value for money and great authentic and fresh italian food with bags of character!
