These guys rock!

They serve the best Vietnamese food in Kingsland road and the permanent queue out the door proves it.

You can get cheaper but great food

Not as cheap as some of the BYOB places further down Kingsland Road but the food here is fantastic.

I would heartily recommend the spring rolls and chicken satay. Think the bill came to around 30-35 pounds for two of us (starters, mains and booze) which is still pretty decent.

The interior is also a lot better than most of the Vietnamese places on Kingsland road.

Cheap and AMAZING.

So my flatmate decided one day that we had to get Vietnamnese food.. and we both haven't tried any yet in London. Since we lived in Islington.. we decided just to stroll down to Kingsland Road and "see which restaruant called to us." so after walking past about 10 restaurants and crossing them off the list based on their decor (too nice = not the traiditional hole in the wall vietnamese place we were looking for), we finally stumbled across this place at the end of the road.

you know it's the place you have to go when the place is almost packed and the other 10 similar restaurants nearby are near empty!

so coming from the bay area, we weren't expecting anything TOO amazing.. but seriously, this definitely was up to par w/ vietnamese food that i'm use to having.

we brought some of our friends here and we've all been ADDICTED since... seriously it's so good.. and everytime i come back i want to try something else or someWHERE else, but as my friend motto about song que goes.."if it aint broke, don't fix it..."

eat here!!!!! and they also close at 11. which is pretty late for restaurants around here

Cheap and Cheerful Vietnamese

Kingsland Road seems like an endless stretch of Vietnamese restaurants and uber-cool Hoxton bars. Song Que is one of the better Vietnamese restaurants, and has the added bonus that you do really feel like you might be in Vietnam - it's hot, the seats are of the plastic garden chair variety and it's full of large noisey Vietnamese families. The food quality is variable - I've been several times, and twice I had excellent food - fresh and zingy bursting with colours and flavours, and twice it's been pretty mediocre. It's a bit of a gamble, but if you are in the area, you should check it out, especially as it's so cheap. The crystal rolls and Vietnamese pancakes are must-trys.
