When I used to live in Eastside Academy the Mess Cafe was my equivilant to 90210's Peach Pit. My flatmates and I would hang out there every weekend, all weekend. Heartbreak? Let's get to the Mess Cafe for fries and milkshake. A pay rise at work? Mess to the Cafe for fries and milkshake.

Since that time it has somehow attracted a whole bunch of Shoreditch idiots who wear Nike high tops with stone washed jeans and think the TV show Skins ripped them off.

But besides that the Mess Cafe is a diamond in the rough. The breakfasts are fantastic. Literally delicious. I recommend the Gruyere and Pesto Mushrooms on toast or the burger (they put finely chopped onions and spices inside the burger patty, it's so yum).

On top of that it is super cheap. Three people can have full breakfasts for less than a tenner.

The only reason not to go there is the lines; you can wait for up to an hour for a table. This is because Saturday and Sunday morning sees groups of 3 to 7 Shoreditch cunt roommates meeting up to discuss their heartbreak or pay rise.
