Unfortunetly nothing has changed. The Manager is still extremly rude and unwelcoming. She still has a very bad attitude and she is supposed to be a church goer.
She has no customer care and I feel sorry for any customer spending money inher shop.
I would love to support this salon as it is black owned- but why lie about good customer care and service! I really hope that someone alerts her to these reviews and she is able to fix up and look sharp!

The owner of Elengance must be paying you a lots of money. The last time a visit the shop i was bucket washed my hair the pip water was working.Oviously she investing all in product non in maintenance.
I realy feel sorry for the workers if only they have other option they wouldnt be exploit.

My family have been customers of Elegance Hair & Beauty Salon for over 10 years and can say that we are very satisfied with the services we receive from the salon. They use the best and most expensive products to do my wife and daughters' hair. Their prices are also relatively good compared with many others in town.
Why do black people always kill off businesses of our own people? The proprietress is one of the nicest people you could ever meet, and she ensures that her staff perform to the highest standards. Just because she refuses to bow to pressure from some people to work for nothing they condemn her. Elegance has been successfully managed for over a decade and its here to stay so get used to it. A SATISFIED CLIENT.

I have been to this hairdressers several times hoping that one day the managers attitude would change. It hasnt changed - in fact I think that she is worse than she has ever been.
She is unwelcoming when you enter the salon as if you are causing her trouble by just coming in.
She does not give advice about your hair and she continuously moans about your hair. Someone do this woman a favour and buy her shop off her!
Seriously - she has a Prime spot in Waltham Forest and it is such a waste as she is not even a good hairdresser!

This is the worst hair dressers I've been to in my life. I came and got pick and drop for the first time.
Throughout my time in the salon the woman moaned about how thick my hair is and its just to much and its making her tired. Despite this she was chatty and friendly.
As a result of this though she done a poor job and less than a week of having my hair done it started to fall out. 1 week and 3 days later most of the plaits have fallen out, so i called the salon to speak to the manager (big mistake).
She had a real dirty attitude and would not listen to a word I was saying and just kept repeating 'you should have called within the first 3 days'. What i was trying to tell her was that none feel out within the first 3 days.
I spent £70 in that godforsaken salon so all i would have liked is to have been listened to on the phone. Instead..the so called manager hung up on me as the few words i got in the conversation were not in agreement with hers.
If you are thinking about visiting this salon it would be an extreme waste of time and money.

I attended the salon for the first time 2 weeks ago, as many years ago, I use to take my son for braiding, but preferred more modern salon for my own hair. The staff were polite and the lovely Mauritian lade who did my hair was very good for this old fashioned salon....then the OWNER walked in and there was silence. The woman gave my stylist a price and I am asking her at the till how much and she barely opened her mouth and the price changed. No manners but with a face like a slapped arse, I expected nothing less.
The pleasant staff should shop around for a decent boss!

As the above customer I too have been going to Elegance for many years, not just for myself but my son too. The old staff were very friendly and professional and the atmosphere was always great.
You'll know when the owner is in as the atmosphere can usually be cut with an axe.
She is impolite, and generally has a horrible way about her. Her sister isn't that much better either. It has come as no surprise to me that all her old staff has gone and she now has several adverts in the window for barbers, plaiters etc...
The only time you'll ever see her smile is when she is taking money off you for the awful service you have received. The new staff isn't as good as the old staff. My advice is too give it a miss. You'll be very disappointed with the money you've wasted.

I have been going to Elegance for over 4 years and thought i was a valued customer...the staff were always polite and did their jobs well however...The Owner, a woman called madeline was a nightmare and has very little social skills, this made me only want to visit the salon when she was NEVER around. I once called to arrange for an appointment and she swore at me and hung up the phone!!!! I am not surprised her customer base is dropping and cant wait to see her go under!!! I will not recomend that place to any one..There are so many good hair salons in Walthamstow, KEEP away from ELEGANCE in HOE STREET The owner allows for it to be less than elegant and more of a nightmare.
