Ping Pong at Bow Bell

4.0 out of 5.0

September 10, 2009

I had another delicious lunch at this place yesterday. Was the perfect place to take my clients as the service was efficient and the staff were polite. I tried Har Gu and the crispy aubergine as a side dish - this was quite ample as the small-ish portions are deceptively filling. Really pleasant dining experience.

'Sum' great ideas

Went to Ping Pong for the first time yesterday and loved it. Loved the decor and surroundings and relaxed feel to it. Got there around 8 - was busy but not packed although I heard it can get full at weekends. Didn't have to wait for a table but did have a wait to order although this didn't really matter as with so much to choose from it took us a while to make up our minds! Very impressed with the drinks menu - opted for a Lemongrass and Lime cocktail which although a little pricey was delicious and no more expensive than at any other London restaurant. I'm no expert on dim sum and am relatively new to it but our sticky rice, ribs and steamed buns were lovely. Looking around it appeared you could order just a couple of quick dishes if you're in a hurry and be in and out in no time, or spend a more leisurely evening there if you have the time. Service was generally very good here so no complaints in that respect. All in all an enjoyable place to come at a very reasonable price and somewhere I wouldn't hesitate to return to.
