Profeet: well worth a visit!

4.0 out of 5.0

Profeet is more than a running shoe shop like e.g. Sweatshop (where the staff didn't seem to know my ankles from their elbows!)

The Profeet staff are total experts in biomechanical analysis and explained in detail why small natural mis-alignments in my body were causing me a lot of discomfort when running or on long walks. The answer was specially made insoles that support my feet better and a choice of 2 running shoes to suit my foot type.

I can now say with confidence one month on that I am more than happy with the outcome and will definitely go back to Profeet every time I need new trainers.

Fantastic experience, Recommended

I went to Profeet off the recommendation of one of my friends who had experienced similar problems to me.
I went and saw one of the technicians for a ski boot fitting after having two holidays ruined from the pain I had in my rental boots. I decided to bite the bullet and invest in some new ones. right from the start they were helpful and kind, they gave a tea when i came in and listened to me, asked what I was expecting from the session, which they fully delivered on.
End result is i walked away with some brand new ski boot, which i loved, and loved EVEN MORE when I spent the next four weeks skiing!!

That was a couple of month ago, I since have been back to have my running assessed for the london marathon, this time i asked to see their podiatrist because of my bunions. (don't tell anyone) We sat and went through a whole lot of video and footscan stuff. After all of that I was recommended some shoes and the podiatrist moulded me some orthotics for my running shoes. one of their therapists gave me some exercises and stretches to work on to help with my technique. (I've not started them yet though... he did warn me of this)
I am now running without the discomfort, maybe not quicker but it was definitely worth it. Bring on the marathon. They even gave me a discount, and donated to my charity for the marathon!!

I would certainly pass on this recommendation to my friends and family.

Stay away!!!

Rubbish!!!! I made an appointment which they claimed was for the afternoon after getting up at 8am on a Sunday morning. No apologies, no compromise nothing. A complete waste of time. Plus, the staff were rude and unaccommodating. Couldn't be more annoyed and wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. Buyer beware!

Uncomfortable and unhelpful

They said they coudn't 'find' my appointment on their computer and kept me waiting for nearly an hour before any assessment. I foolishly went ahead and had some insoles made anyway which turned out to be not nearly as comfortable and well constructed as those I have had made previoulsy by qualified podiatrists.Don't be fooled by the claims of superior technology, they may have been slightly cheaper but have not been worth any saving as they haven't done the job ( I run a minimum of 30miles a week). I wouldn't go there again

Appointments are a waste of time!

Despite making an appointment in person and traveling some distance (after reading the favourable reviews here) there was no one on hand to see/help me. The staff were unapologetic for the inconvenience caused and generally indifferent. It was, sadly, a complete waste of time.

Have just been to Profeet in fulham for my running shoes. The technicians in there were amazing - all sorts of analysis of my running type and my feet. The insoles they made me have already made my knee feel SO much bette when I run.
Would really reccommend to anyone that if youre serious about running and fitness, then these guys do realy such a fantastic job.
call for an appointment though as they are busy!!

After being told by 2 physios to give up running and anything vaguely active and fun I bought some trainers from profeet and they made me some insoles which comepletely cured my knee - which is a complete miracle. I would never buy my trainers from anyone but profeet!

Claire.
