Walking into Maharani is a feast for the senses. This shop is crammed full of Indian delights, brightly coloured textiles hang on the walls, pashminas are piled high and there are rails of contemporary clothes that you can mix and match with. Sarah clearly knows what she's talking about as she does all the buying in India herself. She'll throw bed covers across the floor to explain their intricate designs and where they were made. With jewellery and other trinkets, you couldn't find a better place to find original presents and something for yourself.

This is a great shop for buying stunning party jackets and clothing for women and silk jackets for men, all sourced by the owner in India. The clothes are well-made and exclusive to the store. Maharani also sells top-quality shawls and pashminas and stylish jewellery, perfect presents.

A great little store

A great place to find good value pretty skirts and tops, chic evening jackets (some made from old saris), basketfuls of shawls and scarves, and some jewellery. Spend a bit more for some fabulous contemporary weaves or beautiful old pieces that can be used as throws, hangings or bed covers.
