Chew the fat

3.0 out of 5.0

October 09, 2008

A very cool place to just sit at the bar and chew the fat with the strangers who sit down next to you (last time it was a couple of über-friendly, lady-chasing, beer-swilling Muslim businessmen during Ramadan, as it happens). The barman is friendly and the place is buzzy, with the giant TV screens showing sports. Food is mainly pizza, but there's a great ambiance and lots of young singles passing through Maida Vale, if that's your bag.

Great pizza but be patient

This is our local pizza place - and it does very good pizzas. Le Cosh (as we locals call it) also does very nice pastas plus other main courses. The food is pretty much spot on for the price, better than pub grub but not Michelen star. The only problem is that the service can be a little flaky - regular changes in waiting staff means it often feels like the waiters are constantly being trained. However the manager knows the locals well and always makes us feel very welcome. So... be patient, its worth it!
