Not so Turkish after all....

Mem & Laz,
Mem = People who live in the northern parts of Turkey.
Laz = Turkish cockney for same as above.
Both name and interior indicate it being a traditional Turkish restaurant so I was very surprised by the non traditional Turkish menu. They do have hoummus, dolmades and a lot of lamb dishes but the extensive menu has a very international theme. I had bruschetta for starter, sicilian tuna steak w mash and haricot vert for main and cheescake w raspberry and white chocolate for dessert. I couldnt fault it in any way. The tuna steak was cooked to perfection and the dessert was plate-licking delicious! The restaurant is very vibrant yet cosy, the service was excellent and if I was to mention anything in a slight negative tone it would be the amount of tables and chairs they have crammed in. My personal space was invaded at times but hey, the more the merrier!!!

Excellent for laid back meal

Excellent for a laid back meal out at any time of day or night (they often haul us in on our way home from the pub at 11.30pm!). Really tasty selection of mediterranean food with a constantly changing list of specials. Well worth a visit!
