Dulwich Picture Gallery is England's oldest public art gallery - today, after extensive refurbishment it is a venue that offers top spec facilities and services. Set in the beautiful eighteenth century village of Dulwich, the Gallery is an elegant and sophisticated venue that can accommodate a maximum of 350 guests for a standing reception and approximately 120 for a seated dinner. The cloister makes an ideal sheltered space for drinks, linking the building to five acres of gardens. The Linbury Room seats up to 109 guests for a pre-dinner presentation.

Must-see Legendary Royal Colle

5.0 out of 5.0

July 30, 2007

When the King of Poland was forced to abdicate in 1795, the dealers were left with a Royal Collection on their hands. Not wanting to break it up, they searched for a suitable home for it, eventually willing it to Dulwich College in 1811. This is the dramatic history of how England's first public art gallery, and one of the world's most important collections of European Old Masters' paintings of the Age of Baroque came into being. It's great viewing full of household names and hidden gems, and you get the sense of the wonderful community spirit very seldom found in such places.

There's a great little cafe, a gift shop, even meeting facilities. Also special events such as Study Days, Gallery Tours, Classes and Courses, Family Activities, Gallery Film evenings, Concerts and Dinners; Garden and Gallery Late Night Openings. You can also join the Friends of Dulwich Picture Gallery, and sign-up for a free monthly e-bulletin.
