Great atmosphere, blah food

I’ve been wanting to try William IV for a couple years now but never got around to it. Last Sunday a few of us finally decided to venture over there for lunch. I love the atmosphere: French-like decor with long white, rustic tables that seat about 10 people, dead birds encased in picture boxes and a piano in the corner loaded with board games. Very enticing to spend all afternoon there.

Unfortunately, the food didn’t stand up. All 5 of us had something different although not much to choose from except some sort of roast (veg, chicken, beef, pork) on a Sunday, which is fine, if they are really good. These were all just okay. No one loved their meal. My mushroom soup was a highlight as it wasn’t creamy but pure mushroom and tarragon. But it claimed to have crusty bread with it but it came with a piece of white bread toast. Gross! So not the best place for a Sunday roast but a really nice boozer.
