Great cocktails, lots of meat ... good meat. The burnts ends are great but they are only available on certain days. I suspect they are the scrapings off the bottom of some oven somewhere but they are crunhy and yummy. Good burgers, good service.

Now Smokin' Bayswater, Yeeha!

If you know Bodean’s restaurant in Soho, at the sign of the neon pig, mecca for down home barbecue, then you know to expect authentic wood-fired smokehouse food, a full-service in-house bar with Great cocktails, styish padded-leather diner seating and super sports fixtures on the flatscreens. Now Bodean’s is smokin' in Westbourne Grove, right at the point where superhip Notting Hill meets hard-working Queensgate.

As in other Bodean’s locations, the décor is a stylish 21st century diner with plush padded leather booths, a great, friendly vibe, and cheerful waiters. Signature dish must be the oak-smoked ribs with coleslaw and fries washed down with a pint of Coors, or perhaps the pulled pork meal (slow-smoked pork shoulder from the smoke pit mixed in a Carolina sauce with coleslaw and fries. You can also expect treats like BBQ burnt ends and spare ribs, grilled gamba shrimps served over coconut rice and grilled veggies or great American burgers and sandwiches like hot pastrami on rye!

Bodean’s wacky Beat the Clock promo means the time you order is the price you pay. Order at 6:02 pm, pay £6.02. Got it? Tuesday to Friday 5.30 to 7.30 and all evening Monday, max £8

The answer to every frustrated diner who wails 'why can't you get decent service in London?!"
