so good but can be so bad

What is it with this place? it can just be the best... but then it lets you down and you leave disappointed.

Its definitely my destination of choice when I have a hangover that only a lardy breakfast can help with... and when its right the breakfast is fantastic - no greasy spoonery, more organic sausages, perfect scrambled egg etc.

But then they do something like run out of toast. Or keep you waiting for ages. Which is just frustrating quite frankly!

To be fair I will keep coming back (if I can fight through all the obligatory east dulwich prams).. and their lunches are great especially when you can sit outside. Cos when its good its great! Its just not always....

This is a great value local cafe serving a wide range of breakfast items, bistro style dishes (quiches, salads, soups, stews), and cakes.
I recently came for lunch with a friend and we had a hard time leaving. The homemade mushroom quiche was extra filling and came with fresh potato salad, while my friend tucked into the biggest ever fishcake - with the perfect ratio of salmon to potato. Rounded off with a bottle of crisp white it was the perfect way to spend an afternoon.
The staff are extremely welcoming and the prices are very reasonable - ensuring this place is always busy and buzzing.
