A popular place near the centre of Edinburgh, serving drinks and snacks with films during the day, and becoming quite lively at night.

Space to Lounge

So laid back it is literally horizontal - this bar is a scruffy-stylish space with one room entirely converted into a huge bed.

It is open all day, from 11am, serving soup, snacks and bottomless coffees as well as the usual bar suspects. In the bed-room a film is played every day at 3pm - it is the perfect place for film watching too, with hundreds of cushions and cult movie posters edited to incorporate "Brass Monkeys".

The bar service is good, and there are plenty of draughts, bottles, wines and spirits to pick from. Some of it can be quite expensive (sometimes the price you pay in a popular place), but there's also some good deals on bottles of wine and so on.

This is the kind of place you'll make friends in instantly, it has a happy buzz meaning you can't help but relax and enjoy yourself. Keep an eye out for toppling tables with full pints though!
