And the warranty that I paid for??

I purchased an Octavia vRS from HL Austin (now Wimbledon Honda - same faces, same people, same owners) last year (2011)
Was very glad that I had paid for a one year warranty when an engine management light indicated a failed turbo boost valve. Called HL Austin who instructed me to get the repairs done locally and to then send the bill to the warranty company.
Ideal!
Until I called the warranty people and discovered that HL Austin had never registered my vehicle with them!
Three months, two letters and god knows how many phone calls later and all I have received from this company is flannel and empty promises.
I am now stuck with with a £660 bill and the hassle of a small claims court to go through (and yes Andrew, I will be seeing you there).
Be very wary of this company and insist on a hard copy of your warranty before you hand over your money!

Bought my Skoda from them and would do again. Great sales service and great after sales too. They even checked the car over for me when I was concerned about something that had nothing to do with them - told me everything was OK and said there was no charge afterwards. This is the kind of customer service that keeps you coming back! I'd definitely recommend them.

if only all garages were like this!

my husband told me to come here to buy our new car when our banger finally gave up. no less than three of our friends recommended this place to us and i can see why. i was made to feel welcome immediately. the staff were friendly and patient with me and all of my many questions, also with my three year old who insisted on sitting in the showroom cars 'driving' them! the manager was simply charming and could not have been more helpful. it was a blast from the past and a reminder of how service used to be. if only the same could be said about all businesses. i am confident i will continue to receive excellent service from them as our friends do and i will certainly be recommending them to all and sundry. this is a place worth travelling to, you wont be disapointed.

I have used HL Austin for all my servicing and MOT's over the years and have found them to be efficient, reliable, reasonably priced and above all an honest family run business. I have never had any complaints with them and will always trust their advice.

Cant even give it half of one star,please beware when buying a car from these cowboys.
Bought my skoda there 7 months ago and paid £3000.Ever since then its been in 4 times for one thing and another,but then the latest.
Took it into a registered skoda garage last week whereupon i was told they had taken the engine apart and it was going to cost me £500,Not to be repaired,just for being looked at!!
So i have in effect paid £500 for something that hasnt fixed my car,its the same as it was upon going in.It was then given the news that cos the damage was wear and tear,thr warranty hl austin gave it was worthless and im not covered for wear and tear.
But if i want a new engine,it will only cost me £3000,what a bargain!
I have to ask why HL Austin sold me a car that seven short months later needs a new engine?!
When i contacted them to ask if there was anything they could do i was told if i didnt like it,go to trading standards which is exactly what i have done.
Trading Standards also wonder how the car i was sold can have been fit for purpose with an engine that needs replacing in 7 months.
This is my story and i hope you read it before buying a car from these people,if i can save someone else then maybe it wont all have been in vain.
