The Black Horse is badly in need of a makeover. While I am always impressed by the changing make up of the drinks they serve (for Christmas they have introduced mulled cider) and the pub food is on the acceptable side of the frozen pub food standard the fact remains that the pub is gloomy and dated.

The atmosphere is so dreary that I tend to think that my view of the pub is entirely made up of how friendly the staff are on any particular visit.
