Madame Tussaud's is a museum of waxworks made to look exactly like celebrities. It is open every day of the year apart from Christmas Day. Bookings and tickets for Madame Tussaud's and the London Planetarium are available on the website and on 0870 400 3000, and this means avoiding a queue.

I'll start with short reflection- theoretically,we live to make mistakes and it's something natural to human nation to be wrong. I do know that but I'm still angry that I spent money to go there....
My parents were visiting me a few days ago and after 'ambitious' entertainment we concentrated our attention on all those 'must see' things.
I find kitsch interesting but Madame Tussaud's is not even kitschy. It's London's worst, overpriced tourist trap and you shouldn't even think of setting your foot there.
I booked the tickets in advance as I heard that the museum was usually overcrowded and it was better to do that online. It didn't help us to avoid the queues anyway and we had to wait more than one hour to get inside.
From my (critical) point of view, most of the waxworks are not very lifelike but ok, they still might be perceived as artworks for children. Little girls probably would love to have some photo opportunities with Miley Cyrus or Victoria Beckham and boys would dream of standing next to Rambo...It makes sense....but why the hell the museum is so popular among adults? Don't really know....
The Chamber of Horrors and the wax celebrities might be a fun when you're 10- when you're older, Madame Tussauds experience is really traumatic. Beware!

Been to there some time ago on a weekday, I arrived at 11am and there was no queue at all, which was great. I thought there wouldn't be many things to do apart from non-stop photo-taking with every wax statue (which I enjoyed thoroughly), but obviously I was wrong.
When we finished with the wax statues, we got to the Chambers of Horror, which I think was the best part of the visit. It took about 5 minutes to walk through the whole thing, but there was absolutely no sign to say what to expect. Suddenly there’s a white dressed, blooded lady who creeped me out right from the start, followed us into a pitch black walkway and then the rest of the journey was absolutely terrifying! I couldn’t help screaming, and I must say the guys who were the serial killers were brilliant; they nailed their job, which was to scare the hell out of me!
Anyway, it was fun. Not sure if I'll come back, though, as £22.50 per person for admission is quite a shocker.

So you queue with a load of people outside in the street for at least an hour. You then pay your money - a lot of money when you have a reasonably large family. Then you get to go in, the excitement mounts...... but you are there with thousands of other people all squashed in and you keeping getting in each others way when photos are being taken. Why are people taking photos of waxwork dummies anyway?
The waxworks - well some of them are OK. Some of them you recognise. But why have I spent all this money to look at all these dummies - perhaps I'm the dummy!!!!!
