re: the toppings, I think whatever you like - but the chilli should be judged on the chilli - not the toppings I reckon...

So does that mean we do tasting first without toppings, everyone votes, then we go crazy w toppings?

Hey Everyone,

*phew* where to start. I guess first off thanks to all of you that came down to the Mucky Pup and helped make the Cook-Off such an awesome, special event. Also massive props to the chilli cooks who put so much time and effort into their chillies. Every chilli was absolutely delicious and who knew how different 2 chillies could be. However when it came down to it, the Tipped crowd voted Helen's "El Paso Heart Attack" the best of the day. She can deservedly carry the title of Chilli Champion until the next time. If you don't know Helen she writes an awesome blog called Food Stories http://helengraves.co.uk/ which you should check out. Second prize went to Madison whose daughter Kaya kicked off the piñata proceedings with a sterling effort against the giant chilli. And third prize went to Joel and Henry's 'Chilli Me Breathless'. Anyway it’s not always the winning, but the taking part that counts, so thanks to Mark, Madison, Chris, Joel, Kenny and Austin.

And special thanks have to go to Kenny & Angus of the Mucky Pup, Gill AKA the Chilli Wizard, the guys from Mucho Mas for supplying us with chips, salsa and guac, Aromy for making the awesome crochet chillies, and Sarah Palin for being the muse for our pinata - I haven't laughed so hard in forever.
