So my parents are coming for a visit this week. I have some thoughts on what to do, but does anyone great ideas for entertaining the parental units in London? Maybe some slightly atypical things? What have other people done that worked really well?

I did a Collection called Amy's Top London To Do which I've done with my parents and they've really enjoyed. Some of the obvious but a few on there are more obscure like Denis Severe's House and a show at the Almeida (you can get £6 tickets and every seat is decent even if it says slightly blocked since it's a small theatre). Seeing a Shakespeare show at the Open Air Theatre in Regent's Park impressed my parents. Such a great venue. Hope this helps! Have fun!

Thanks Amy! That's really funny, I was thinking about going to Dennis Severs' House with them.

If they're looking for a dose of culture, but have already seen the Elgin marbles and the Rosetta Stone, maybe give some of London's lesser known (but equally impressive - and free!) museums like the Sir John Soane museum or the Wallace Collection a look. Also, depending on the weather I suppose, near the Soane are the various Inns of Court which are quite lovely to walk through.
