Great service
April 24, 2008
The service here is very good. They will make a drink to your requirements. So, if you are feeling under the weather just tell them and a smoothie will be created that will help you get through the day. They do a great muesli drink for breakfast, and a range of sandwiches for lunch. Additionally, the home made soups are well worth trying. The only draw back is the limited seating inside.

Poor communications
April 24, 2008
This electrician had to change the date that they were coming out to me a number of times (Four). The reason being that the parts that they had to order had not come in. This I could live with. What I cannot live with is the fact that they did not ring me to tell me they were not going to be coming out - everytime it was me ringing them. So I ended up staying in unnecessarily. Poor customer service.

There's an aroma alright!
April 11, 2008
We decided to visit this cafe for a coffee rather than pop into Spitalfields Market. Big mistake. The clue should have been when you walked in to discover that the aroma they refer to is that of rotting cabbage!! All the same we decided to try the coffee as they did have a coffee making machine installed. A cappuccino and an americano was our request. The americano ended up being an instant coffee. Both drinks tasted of nothing. I suppose we should have just been pleased that they didn't taste of rotting cabbage!

It's not just the coffee
April 08, 2008
The reviews on the Market Coffee House focus very much on the coffee that is served here - which as everyone says is great. But you should also know that the food here is very good for lunch. This ranges from lovely homemade soup in great big bowls, sandwiches with super thick cut bread and ploughmans with enough cheese to keep the largest mouse happy! The ambiance of the place is great as well - all in all not a bad word to say about the place!

Aaahhhhhh!!!!
March 20, 2008
Despite the crowds this is a place worth going to, especially with kids. Make sure that if you do go that you book on the internet and can then go in the 'quick'(?) queue. In the school holidays this will still take you a while to get in, but is still worth spending the extra pounds.
Inside is dark, dismal and smelly. Just how you want it to be. There are lots of side shows with actors dressed up in the part. I was particularly thrilled in the 'Jack The Ripper' area to be accused by a prostitute of spending a tuppence on her the previous night! My wife didn't seem to be too concerned.
Particularly enjoyable were the court scene, the Sweeny Todd chairs and the Gallows ride.
It is great for the kids as long as they are not of a nervous disposition, and I would suggest age seven or older. My seven year old was fine, but then with three older brothers he is used to being scared! The only disappointment for him was that he was too short to go on The Gallows ride.
Definitely worth a family visit

We picked rather an unfortunate evening to go here. We went with another couple and had a good table in the window, but there was a rather loud large group of people in here as well. Perhaps this is why the service was not particularly great. We were surprised when we sat down at our table and no one offered to take our coats, and then the service was fairly slow - but perhaps to be expected due to the number of people in that evening.
The Dining Room has not been open that long, under a year at the time of writing this. The food is tasty and there is a good choice on the menu. All the same we were disappointed by the lack of vegetables on the plates.
Although not perfect, The Dining room has potential, and once it has got through it's teething probems I am sure that it will be a good restaurant to add to your list of places to go in Ipswich.

How much??
March 14, 2008
Call me old fashioned - but I had imagined that when I turned up at St Pauls cathedral I would get in for free. Perhaps I am wrong but I thought it was a church and that it should operate on a donation basis. I would have been more than happy to have made a donation but I wasn't going to pay the amount that had been deemed necessary. Such a shame as I had been to a friends wedding here many years ago in the crypt (if you have a parent with an OBE you are allowed to be married at St Pauls) and I was looking forward to going back in.
Instead I walked away and saved myself some money!!

Mumbai restaurant is an Indian buffet, situated in a central position in Ipswich. The food is excellent for a buffet and should you want something that is not out on display they will cook it for you. My children really enjoy it here and are keen to try the dishes that are laid out. Additionally there is an ice-cream selection for dessert - so that keeps them happy as well.
The service is quick, no nonsense and friendly.
I have also been here with big groups of people (30+) and Mumbai handle this sort of event very well - there never seems to be a lack of food.

what is the point......
February 29, 2008
So you queue with a load of people outside in the street for at least an hour. You then pay your money - a lot of money when you have a reasonably large family. Then you get to go in, the excitement mounts...... but you are there with thousands of other people all squashed in and you keeping getting in each others way when photos are being taken. Why are people taking photos of waxwork dummies anyway?
The waxworks - well some of them are OK. Some of them you recognise. But why have I spent all this money to look at all these dummies - perhaps I'm the dummy!!!!!

Memorable
February 21, 2008
I still have treasured memories of going to Regent's Park Open theatre when I was a teenager to see Midsummer's Night Dream and Much Ado About Nothing- Oh dear that must nearly thirty years ago! I can still remember the wonder of the evening performances. So summer 07 I decided to take my children to see 'Fantastic Mr. Fox' here. It was a day time performance so the theatre was not as impressive as in the evenings, but all the same a great performance.
There is so much that can be done in this theatre and it never fails to amaze me how they use it for the difference performances, and how good the acoustics are.
Going here provides a memory worth having!
