Whole Foods Market London Reviews

A bit pricey and very busy on a Saturday. They do have a lot of choice but you need a large bank balance to shop here. Staff always very attentive. Only for a real treat.

Wholly Wholesome - SUPERMARKET:

So, most Brits don't take to all things American too well because they're usually big, bland and tasteless. Well, Whole Foods is big. But, it's not the other two nouns. Oh, no.

Very welcoming and warm is the immediate reaction you have inside you when you walk into a Whole Foods (probably down to the over-use of the halogen bulb) and what an array of foods there are!

Perfect for strolling around in to waste time (you will inevitably buy something) or for your and your friends to grab fresh food real quick and head to the park for a picnic. Or go upstairs to the restaurant if it's cold.

RESTAURANT:

Foody goodness is upstairs and, my, is there a heap of it! From pizzas, to an entire Mexican section, to curries, to salads - almost anything you want to eat, is here. And, everything is fresh, of course. Get in line, make your selections to your own requirements, pay up and grab a chair. It sounds like your usual place to eat, but it just feels different. I usually go for the Mexican section and have tried everything from the taco to the quesadilla to the wrap. Fresh food really makes a difference to the taste.

When you're done with everything, you can shop around for all sorts of items (non-food) or go for ice-cream! The ice-cream selection is massive and boy do those taste good also.

As long as you don't end up going when it's busy (lunchtimes), you're pretty much guaranteed a quick, easy and painless trip here.

America comes to you - and this time it means it! With the success of these in the States, I can probably assure you that they're here to stay.

Healthy made easy - Even if it has connotations of yoga mat toting clientele, I have to say that I love this place. It spans 3 levels. The basement/ground floor is a supermarket stocking foods with an organic/healthy/wholesome/farmers market slant and includes a meat counter, grain counter, chocolate counter, wine, hot food counter, flower stall and cheese room. Great place to find those harder to track down ingredients too. My favourite is the bakery at the front of house. The breads are divine and packed with ingredients, unlike many competitors out there. Some are so rich they are almost like cake– olive bread with whole olives, chocolate hazelnut bread and blue cheese with walnut are my return to again and again favourites. The canteen style café upstairs allows you to order from a range of counters with foods from around the world and is packed at weekends. They also hold wine and/or cheese tasting evenings – great value as the wine evenings usually include a 3 course meal, and the enthusiasm of staff conducting theses classes is infectious. I think there are also spa services available in 1 section of the store and various Mum and tot events. Even if you are not into the whole healthy living vibe there is something for everyone, so go join a pilates class and get yourself down here.
