This Bistro Gets Better Each Time - This is my fourth time at Le Bistro du Coin over 2 months, and each time it gets better and better. We were quickly greeted in a welcoming friendly manner, and this set the tone for a wonderful meal. I started with the scallops which smelled and tasted delicious. This was followed by the Fillet of Venison which was cooked to perfection. My dining companion started with the onion soup followed by the duck confit, top marks here too! My only regret is I had no room left for dessert. Can't wait for next time!

Excellent French cooking! - What a find. Went for our wedding anniversary on Sunday 10th January 2010. Liked the look of the menu, and boy was it good! I had perfectly cooked scallops to start, while my wife had equally accomplished squid. For mains i had very good venison loin with mash, and my wife had duck breast with potato Dauphnoise. Great! Finishrd with apple tartin and a chocolate fondant. being an avid foodie and someone who works in the industry at a very high level, this was good, really good! service ok, coffee terrible, otherwise, my new local

New french cuisine in Old Southgate - What a treat! After the welcome demise of Chez Gianni (former occupants of this corner location) le Bistro du Coin provides top quality French cuisine at a reasonable price. The excellent food coupled with a good wine list and friendly service makes this a great addition to Southgate Green's 'restaurant row'.

Great Restaurant - I have eaten in this restaurant at least half a dozen times in the short time that it has been open - initially because it is very local to us and I have to say that we have never had a bad experience at all. The restaurant is extremely welcoming, the staff are always friendly and the food is always great.
We are very fortunate that we very often eat in great restaurants both in business and socially and I have to say we are delighted that we have found a local restaurant that delivers great food, very efficient and friendly staff and all at a price that you can't complain about. I have read one of the negative reviews on this website and I actually remember the person being in the restaurant one evening that I was there and I have to say that throughout the evening they complained about everything in life generally. I do believe that if people are going to take the time to write a review, it should at least be objective and informative.
The owner of the restaurant not only cooks great food but he comes out into the restaurant to get feedback from the customers and I have never heard anyone giving him negative feedback. This is somewhere that you can go with friends or even on your own and you will not be disappointed. If you try it, I hope you enjoy as we do. It's a very easy and enjoyable evening out.

Terrible meal - I also have never felt the need to write a review, but this meal was a disaster from the moment we arrived. too many tables crammed in together, we had to ask for our menu, they were very slow to take our order. Followed by small portions and a 40 min wait for main courses - which arrived tepid. The waitress was not helpfull either. she told us the delay was not her fault and the meals were cooked in order of arrival. when we complained about the temp of food she disagreed with us.... need i say more. oh and not to mention the dirty water jug with old bits of lemon stuck to the inside ! please dont go there.
