Not very professional.... - I installed new pickups to my guitar, but since I am not very confident with soldering I took it to Rikky's to do the job. I very clearly asked for a job on the electrics, and Chris also confirmed that by asking whether everything is ok with the strings and that I did not need anything else.After 5 days (2 days later than agreed) I got my guitar back. The "technician" who was very professional ( at the moment i walked in he was doing a fret job on a guitar on a stool while he was kneeling !!!!) decided besides soldering the pickups to change the 5 way selector to a 3-way one and do a whole setup to my guitar so I got a bill of 65 pounds!!!!!! When I got home I found in the guitar case a string tree in the original package which he also decided to install but he never did. He just bought it and put in in the case!!!!!! Let alone the solder on the strings. I went in for soldering 2 cables and I got out with a 65 pounds bill !!!! Excellent job Chris!!!! By the way that is not professionalism. It is called crookery. I was proud with myself that I did not explode when he was talking to me like I am a 15yo ignorant child trying to persuade me that I really needed a 3 way switch because I would knock off the 5way one, and that's how he does the job because he is professional !!!!! Once again I was robbed in a guitar store. I hate people making their leaving based on other peoples ignorance. But well done. You are 50 pounds richer and you have one customer less to bother you.

Great Edinburgh Music Shop - You can find Rikkis Music Shop along the end of Leith Walk. Rikki is the owner and his son Chris work in the music store. They stock quite a variety of musical instruments keyboards drum kits guitars and lots more. I've even picked up some DJ equipment over my years visiting them. It's my favourite tip for an Edinburgh music shop.
