Best Belash! - I visit the Belash at least once a week (really), usually with my partner and kids and we love it. They use really fresh spices and the ingredients are also as fresh as they can be and the vegetables are not over cooked as they often are in Indian food. We are all vegetarians and have plenty to choose from. Whether or not you eat meat, I can highly recommend the Pathia (a sweet and sour dish which is usually around Madras hot, though we often order it hotter). This is similar to a Massala but instead of the smoky, tandoori flavour, it has a sharp and spicy freshness. The staff are lovely and the take-aways are as good as eating in. 09-02-11

Chutney Mary. - Nothing says England like a good curry, and nothing says good curry like a Dopiaza from the Belash. I introduced my American boyfriend to what Indian food *should* taste like at the Belash.

Like all good curry houses this place is unassuming to look and a high number of the clientele are Indian themselves. This is always a sign that we are onto a winner.

I remember on a recent visit getting a Chicken Vinadloo and being amazed how the individual spices and flavours all permeated through the intense heat leaving a warm spicy feeling right at the back of my throat.

Their keema nan is a thing of wonder and I always get that to accompany one of their many delicious chicken or lamb dishes. They do a Lamb Murghi that is delicately spiced with a rich sticky butter sauce that wouldn't be out of place on the menu of a much higher caliber joint. 10-03-08
